TUC Celebrates 150 Years This Week And Of Women's Involvement

Women have been at the forefront of the strugle for healthy and safe workplaces from the very start of the Trade Union Movement and the birth too of the TUC.

Now in 2018 in Manchester's Mechanic's Institute where it all began this fact is being celebrated with an event held today to celebrate women Trade Unionists and the part women played in forming the TUC.

It is easy to forget that a huge number of female trade unionists are also part of the Trade Union Movement's 'army of life savers'.

Tomorrow sees the TUC's Anniversary event 'You Got To Fight For Your Right To Safety', the concidence of which is certainly not lost on the CWU Health and Safety Community as they engage in the fight to secure the future of the Healtgh & Safety Dept after Re-Design; with many CWU Women safet reps attending.
